NHS England’s consultation outlines plans to reduce spend in “low priority” areas. The consultation covers items such as travel vaccines, paracetamol and homeopathic products. It also includes measures to restrict prescribing of fast-acting fentanyl, a treatment used by clinicians to control rapid onset, severe pain in cancer patients towards the end of life.
The consultation is open until 21st October 2017.
