Louise recently retired from Dorothy House after 14 years at the hospice, an organisation that serves the communities of Bath & North East Somerset, North & West Wiltshire, and East Mendip. Louise began her journey with Dorothy House as a volunteer before becoming a member of staff in the role of Community Development Officer. Louise enjoyed being part of the Business and Development Programme Team focussing on supporting the workforce to embrace an Asset-Based Community Development approach. This approach involved working alongside communities to discover and build on their strengths, rather than focusing on what is wrong, which in turn helps create more resilient and sustainable communities for patients, families, carers, and the wider public. One of the highlights of her time with Dorothy House was witnessing the Hospice at Home service flourish, becoming an integral part of the community and highly respected by healthcare professionals. Louise is the Treasurer for the National Association of Hospice at Home and also supports Trustees with specific projects. |
